All The World is a Stage

Do you have good stage presence? When you are in a large group or classroom setting do you think about the perfect answer first and remain silent until you do so or do you talk often and forcefully and speak with conviction even if you believe something fifty-five percent of the time?
The answer may surprise you. The “quiet” individual searching for the perfect answer is an introvert; however, according to Quiet, Susan Cain’s New York Times bestseller (2012), the introvert is not necessarily shy. The introversion-extroversion spectrum is based upon environmental factors. An introvert recharges his or her batteries in the quiet spaces of life instead of drawing energy from groups or crowds. They are the listeners and the thinkers. If you are an introvert or if you have a child, who is one, there is good news! There are successful introverts like John Quincy Adams, Charles Schwab, Bill Gates, Brenda Barnes, CEO of Sara Lee; Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, George Orwell, Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss), Charles Schulz, Steven Spielberg and J.K. Rowling. And their list of contributions is remarkable!
Did you know that an extrovert can also be shy? Perhaps you know someone who may be too shy to pose a question to his or her audience, yet they are gregarious and comfortable in the spotlight. Surprisingly this means there are also bold introverts. Rosa Parks was considered an introvert, a “quiet type,” yet she possessed the fortitude of a lion.
The introversion-extroversion factor is about energy level in your environment.
How does this translate when selling a home?
When you walk into a home that you are buying or selling, do you feel a certain energy level? Do you have the right environment? What if you “staged” a particular home, would you draw more traffic to it? Would you get a higher price and perhaps sell it quicker than if you had an empty home?
To stage or not to stage. That is the question.
Do you know a particular staging company that you can recommend to our readers? We’d love to hear from you! We’d love to investigate the pros and cons to staging a home. Please send your responses to lisa@champia.com and we’ll post the results.
After all, the world is your stage if you create the right environment.
